Pinda said the pledge was to motivate the players so that they could qualify for the World Cup group stages.
The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF)
media officer, Boniface Wambura, said yesterday the Prime Minister
pledge was honoured through the National Sports Council (NSC) who will
in turn give the money to the players.
Wambura said TFF, through national team
manager Leopold Tasso, is preparing a list of players who deserve the
Prime Minister’s gesture.
The TFF media officer said the list will then be sent to NSC who will disburse the money to the players.
Wambura said TFF is very thankful to the
Prime Minister for living up to his promise, adding that the 2-1 away
win which Stars got could have been contributed by the pledge.
